Review: TharnType

Soooo, one of the highest praised and most discussed shows of 2019 just aired its finale on January 6th and left all us fans hoping for a continuation and more of this amazing acting and lovely chemistry.

Don’t worry I’m not here today to just praise the series. I do have some things to complain about, although I can already tell, there aren’t many.

TharnType – General Information

TharnType is a 12 episodes Thai series that started airing in October 2019 and took a two week break over the Christmas holidays just to make everyone wait for its finale on January 6th.

The story is set in the same universe as the highly popular series Love By Chance. It is produced by a different team though and stars totally different actors except for a few guest appearances.

TT is about Type, a college student, who starts sharing a room with the music student Tharn and they hit it off really well. Because of a trauma from childhood Type has sworn to hate everything gay for lifetime. So what happens when he finds out that his seemingly perfect roommate is gay?

The story and character development

The story in general is nothing new. It’s about someone’s hate turning into love and them having to face some obstacles. TT does not shine because of its extraordinary story, it doesn’t. It does shine quite a little bit because of its story development though.

The guys didn’t just meet and dislike each other in the first second but had a good time until Type found out about Tharn liking other guys. That’s when the complications started. The characters make a lot of mistakes in the beginning. Like really big ones. That was one of the reasons the series was kind of disliked in the beginning but soon they turned it around because TT is not just a story to enjoy some eye candy but the mistakes are there for a reason. You see the characters learn and start doing better. You see themย  start understanding each other and try to learn more about their roommate. You can see the story shape the protagonists and make them into better people.

bbwd6f

The character development in this show is definitely noticeable and a big plot point and I really appreciated the change from other shows where it’s sometimes shown that love conquers all. In TT both parties had to learn to change as well as accept each other’s faults to stay together. In that regards it’s a lot more like real life than just the unconditional and never ending love we see and love from other shows.

The chemistry of Mew & Gulf

The main leads are played by Mew Suppasit Jongcheveevat (What The Duck) as Tharn and Gulf Kanawut Traipipattanapong as Type. Mew already has some experience acting in a BL role while Gulf is quite new to the whole genre.

maxresdefault

The chemistry between the leads but also the rest of the cast is absolutely superb. I mean the leads fit oh-so-well together and maybe it is because they are close friends (at least that’s what it seems like) in real life you see that they mean a lot to each other in every single one of their glances and stares.

One thing I appreciated in this couple: while Tharn was originally the stronger and more grown-up part of the couple, around the end you could see how much he trusted and loved Type. He let go and showed his weak and more child-like side to him too. Also you see Type realize when he has to be the strong one and protect his man and its not just the other way around. I mean I don’t have anything against the usual Ae-Pete situation going on but I just appreciated a tough couple like this one too ^.^

The acting and production

One thing you just have to comment on when watching this show, the quality. The production quality (props, set, background music, lighting, etc.) is amazing. I don’t remember anything being out of place or being anywhere near lazy production. The lighting and colors are beautiful. Light and beautiful scenes are held in bright and warm colors while harsh and heart wrenching scenes are done in dark and cold colors. It sets an atmosphere. I mean just see how they decided to slow down the intro song for the last episode since the story line wasn’t as happy as the original song at the moment. It fit the atmosphere of the things happening.

The chemistry and the production quality are definitely great and no, I do not have any bad points to comment on here. I tried to find some bad points but I just couldn’t.

So, now about the acting. Together with Mew with have not many known faces returning. Mostly Mild Suttinut Uengtrakul (Love’s Coming) and a few other faces who have appeared in like one other show or are set to appear in another series. Still the acting was quite exceptional. Everyone convinced in their role and showed their character really well. There were some scenes where I was kind of thrown off sometimes but those scenes came from side characters rather than the leads or their main circle of friends. Big compliments on the casting and the acting. You could see everyone was doing their best.

Is there anything bad about this series?

Okay, now let’s go to the more negative part. What about this series wasn’t done so well. First off, I just wanna complain about the two week break during Christmas…why did you leave us hanging for two weeks. And no, I won’t count the special they released inbetween. That was just a try to get us to feel bad for the bad guy which did not work at all for me.

But no, let’s get real. There is a reason the discussion got heated after the first few episodes. There are a few edgy scenes (and I don’t mean edgy in a good way). If I see it how they explained it, as faulty characters who have to learn how to become better people, sure, then I can take it. But on the other hand, it was kind of controversial considering Type had a trauma from childhood and while Tharn did not know about it, he just did something without the other guy knowing. It’s not perfect but it kinda fits the story and their explanation does actually make sense. They did not included a forced skinship scene for the heck of it but to make a point that some things are okay but sometimes you should know the whole story before making a judgement.

Another issue I wanted to point out: Sometimes there were really slow scenes. Those scenes would’ve sometimes been better if they had been cut in half so someone wasn’t staring at the ground and thinking about an answer for such. a . long. time. It did get exhausting sometimes.

Overall Review

Overall, TharnType proved the winner of 2019’s BL shows and there have been quite a few contenders. But even if there was a lot of doubt in the beginning, they series came back strong and showed everyone how a series and a fitting (season!!) ending are made. Yes, I’m hoping for another season. No, I’m not being subtle about it.

rrjbvf

Also, as a side note, I really appreciated the short guest appearance by Saint, Mark and Mean in the middle and the end of the series. Okay, I admit, I mostly grinned at Saint because I missed his character Pete so much.

After doing some research I also realized that I should’ve never doubted the story behind TT. I mean the screenwriter is the same as the one for Love Sick and the author of the novel is just a wonderful creative mind, so there you have it.

What did you think about the series? Did you enjoy watching? Will you check it out?

Review: 2 Moons 2

Before I start writing anything about this series: this review will contain spoilers. Not too many but it will talk about some plot points of the series so if you don’t want to know any spoilers at all, you should not read this. If you don’t care or have already watched it, have at it. Enjoy!

im-ready-gif-5

GENERAL

2 Moons 2 is the second season or reboot or whatever you want to name it, of the popular 2 Moons series. Before it aired there was SO MUCH backlash for the new cast, I can only compliment them for working through it and doing their best ๐Ÿ™‚ The series consists of 12 episodes and stars mainly newbie actors with some exceptions, I think.

x1080-1s2

The story is mainly about Wayo, a college freshman who gets to attend the same college as his idol and high school crush Phana. Together with his best friend Ming and the engineering faculty senior Forth he starts pulling some heart strings in the popular college doctors-to-be gang of Phana, Kit and Beam.

THE NEW CAST

…is amazing. While in the beginning people had some problems getting on board with the new cast, we all totally went for them in the end. I mean they are not just adorable but really good and present us with our beloved 2 Moons 2 characters in a totally new way. I definitely loved it. We got new dynamics between the characters and saw sides to them we didn’t know about.

So sure, it had a rocky start. The acting was more than just a little bit awkward in the beginning but it got better and better. 2M2 is one of those shows that show you that believing in them and not giving up watching can also result in something great. The actors got better each episode and showed a big range of emotions. We got the famous scene where Phana realizes that Wayo is not just similar to his (secret) high school crush but is actually the guy he fell in love with years before (and immediately becomes depressed cause calling someone ‘shorty’ doesn’t leave the best impression on someone you might like). Since the producers retold season 1 in like the first four episodes of this one (so it is more like a reboot than a second season, I guess) we get some new content and a lot of the novel’s plot lines that have not been explored yet. Some serious drama I have to say and while we all disliked seeing our little cutie Wayo like this, you really have to praise Earth’s acting in Wayo’s break down scene.

50kpzf

Big compliments to the producers and the actors for also including some serious time with Wayo’s Angel’s gang friends who were only comic relief before but had some serious story time in this one. However dramatic they may be, we all wanted an Angel’s gang at our side when seeing how caring they were for Wayo.

Overall, the cast did a really good job and gave life to the characters from the novel.

THE PRODUCTION

I know this all sounds like a long post of praise. Do not worry. I also have some criticism. Mainly about the production. I know episodes 1 til 4 are a re-telling of the previous season but tbh the production of them lacks a lot. The moment it is not a re-telling anymore the production quality and story pace gets like 50% better and finally to a standard you won’t get annoyed with. I don’t know whether the producers just thought they didn’t really need to put that much work into a story people already knew or if there just wasn’t enough time to work on the episodes until the series got released.

maxresdefault

So that was number one. Number two is something that is really noticeable in episodes 1 to 4 but pops up every now and then in the rest of the series too. I don’t know who did the sound production for the show but please…if you want to add drama, choose wisely what scenes get music and what scenes won’t. There were so many scenes that were just…quiet. There was no real dialogue and also no background music or sounds, making the whole scene a little bit awkward. They had problems with that even until the last episode although I admit that they got better over time. Still, please, do not continue that way. Even if it is really quiet music, just add something!

Otherwise the production quality is as expected. The colors are nice, the details are lovely and the props are satisfying.

THE STORY

While watching the start of 2M2 I actually read the novel and let me just tell you, I would’ve never thought for them to follow it so detailed. Sure, there are some changes and there are scenes from the novel they kind of mixed together in the series, although I think that is because after all, it is a series and not a novel.

dzgh731uuae_xbe

In general it is nice to see the story develop around our beloved characters. While I know that some may not like that there were some episodes that were devoted to one or at most two couples and just kind of skipped over the third couple, I do understand the choice. It helps emphasizing with the characters and getting into the story. Also someone mentioned that the chemistry was off in some episodes. I don’t think that is the case though. I did notice that since sometimes a couple had no real story in an episode, it wasn’t mentioned much so maybe that was why some thought the chemistry was odd.

The cast did really well though and the chemistry was really lovely and sweet.

OVERALL

Overall, 2M2 deserves full praise from my side. It is not perfect, but in this day and age, what is? The cast did an amazing job and the producers showed us that sometimes strange decisions may really be for the best of the series and we should trust them more. I can only look forward to seeing season 3! After that kind of ending, there needs to be a third one…so, I’ll definitely look forward to that ๐Ÿ™‚

Review: Theory of Love

Welcome to another review…after I haven’t been publishing anything for some time. Why? Because I was too busy with life and too lazy to write to be honest. But since I am currently sick in bed and cannot do much I just decided to finally get on with this and present some new content, especially since I promised it such a long time ago.

So here it is, my review for Theory of Love.

d4zddf

GENERAL

Theory of Love is a 12 episode BL series from GMM 25 and airing from June until August 2019. It stars our favourite BL couple OffGun in the main roles, as Khai and Third respectively. The show is about Third, studying in his film major and part of a group of close friends, Khai, Bone and Two. Ever since he met Khai though, he is in love with him but isn’t brave enough to confess, afraid their friendship would be over afterwards. Khai on the other hand is a full on playboy and has no idea about his friend’s feelings. Of course, the drama starts when both start seeing each other’s and their own feelings.

bxrjvm

THE STORY & CHARACTERS

If you have watched the show you should know that the story got a lot of back lash. Okay, maybe less the story and more the characters. At first you see Khai being an ass to Third and acting like a huge jerk. It goes as far as people asking Third to fall in love with someone else because the playboy is just so…hopeless? At least that’s what it seems like. And later on Third is not behaving any better and is pretty much doing the same to Khai and people hated on him then. So yeah, it was a total reversal but we all have to admit…they kind of fit together in their own way.

Before I go any deeper into the story and so on…I have to say…I didn’t actually like Theory of Love. Don’t critise me just yet though! I didn’t like the fact how both sides had the worst timing in liking each other and the story really makes you ask what they see in each other. If someone treated me how they treated each other sometimes…I would soooo not be interested anymore. But maybe that’s just me. So yes, I didn’t like the Khai x Third story at all.

theory-of-love-thailand-2019

But those two are not the only love line we get. Theory of Love also offers others romantic couples…or something similar. We have Bone falling in love with one of the instructors…oh what surprise…well, they did portray it kinda nicely, even if, SPOILER! it did not end the way you might think. Also Theory of Love offered a couple we did not even know we wanted until we actually got it! Two and Un, or the actors White (Love Sick) and Earth (Water Boyy The Series) respectively, start off disliking each other, at least that is what you are meant to think and they kind of grow on the audience as well as each other.

Seriously I have never cheered so much for an unexpected couple. You don’t see it coming until suddenly it’s there and I really liked them together. There story was endearing and lovely. Such a difference to our main couple…

THE CAST

So before you get annoyed with me, let me redeem myself: While I did not enjoy the Khai x Third story AT ALL, I watched it because I love OffGun and they did an amazing job! Seriously, if you get annoyed by awkward acting in some of the BL shows or other series in general, watch Theory of Love. The actors really did their best and it shows. Off definitely proved he is a great actor and can do different multi-layered characters too. Admit it, we all kind of thought he would act as Pick-characters (see Puppy Honey) forever. But well, he definitely proved himself in the series and showed some amazing acting. Gun himself…what should I say, we all knew he was good before because he acted in some strange as well as heavy stuff before and he already showed it back then but definitely showed it again in Theory of Love.

1qo65m

As for the other cast, they did a good job too. Compliments go to White and Earth. Maybe it is because they both played as the more active part in their previous BL roles before and maybe they seem more lovely because the KhaiThird love line was so dramatic but White and Earth had a strange and thrilling feeling about them. For the longest time people only whispered about the characters getting together but when we finally got some steps forward, everyone was still taken aback, whilst at the same time delighted of course. But while everyone wanted it, no one actually thought we would get it. At least I didn’t.

Well, do not worry. The acting is amazing and the loveliness of the side couples definitely makes up for all the drama coming from our mains.

THE QUALITY

Before I give you the overall paragraph I just want to add: the quality of the series is really good despite its kind of messed up story line/characters. The pictures and images are nice and the details are good too. Also, there are some funny scenes in the series. Also how OffGun covered movie posters is so cute ๐Ÿ™‚

elbebm

OVERALL

Overall, Theory of Love is a strange mix of differences and contradictions. While some character has the best time of their life, someone else feels like his life is crumbling. Let me say it honestly, the acting is really good, like really really good and there are some parts of the story of Khai and Third that are interesting but in general our main characters and their love lives are a mess and total drama. Would I still recommend Theory of Love? Yes. Definitely yes. Why you ask? Well, first off, to show you the improvements in acting of all the cast and then to make you another fan of our Un/Two couple. Seriously, I love them so much!

I recommend Theory of Love, if at least two of the following applies to you:

  • you like soap operas or dramatic melodramas
  • you are a fan of Off or Gun or both
  • you like side couples
  • you like shows that are not just “lovey-dovey under the apple tree” but actually show some bad decisions and stupid mistakes by the leads too
  • you have no other BL series to watch
  • you want to support GMM so we can get more BL shows in the future!

If two of them apply, have fun watching and tell me in the comments down below what you thought.

tumblr_pwpkmwuhbk1xk47oho1_540

I know this is an amazingly short review but tbh I really only enjoyed the acting of the whole cast and the loveliness of the side couple and could have done without anything else, so I did not want to write more otherwise, believe me, you wouldn’t want to watch it. I think that would be sad though since some people did like the series, so maybe you would like it.

2Moons 2 – Reboot Review

On June 29th we started into a new adventure…2Moons 2 The Series started airing and with it came a pressure to perform well. The special pre-episode told us the first 3-4 episodes are gonna tell the story we all know and then the new plot lines are starting. For now 5 episodes have aired so I will review those for now and maybe a full on review later on.

A new start

Not long ago they announced they would re-tell some of the story from the previous 2Moons and would then go on to tell new story lines. So do not expect too much from the first 3 episodes since those are pretty much just a re-telling of the story and not much else.

x1080-1s2

Suprisingly the re-telling brings quite some new things and dynamics which you may have thought about but not seen before.
We get more insight into Kit’s feelings, as well as some spin on the back story between Phana and Wayo. Their story seems to have a whole different undertone but I give that to the new actors (which I will say more about later). In general the reboot/season 2 brings a whole different aura and feels like you may watch something new with a little bit of a deja-vu feeling beside it.

The Cast

I wasn’t really into the new cast at the beginning. Not because I liked the old one that much but because their acting in teasers and trailers seemed shallow. So what to really expect from the new cast? They are better than I imagined, really, BUT they are really different than before. You know the saying that every actor and actress gives new characteristics to a character? Well, this time it is definitely like that.

cover-2moons

So what changed? Well, Pha is definitely more tough character-wise and does seem a little bit colder. I think that fits really well considering Wayo never really knew his feelings were reciprocated and it would have been strange if he never noticed anything. We get some back story of how Pha finally realized his own feelings and stepped out of his comfort zone to admit he liked a guy (compliments for having such good friends who wanted him to be honest and support him). This side was totally missing from season 1. Also Pha seems a lot more playful around his friends and later on when he gets closer to Wayo. In general he seems to be the kind of guy who is really close and sweet when he knows someone well and kind of cold but polite when he meets some stranger. Before he was mostly handsome and in love with Wayo but this time he is a lot more playful in the relationship. I like the new characteristics a lot and it leads to a new set of scenes with Wayo. While this playfulness does make him seem younger, the kissing and more intimate scenes with Wayo give the character some feeling of being grown up, so we also get that.

Wayo is a little bit more awkward which doesn’t really hurt the role (since the character is awkward too) and also he does seem like someone who is in love with Pha for years. Previously he had more backbone and while he did seem like a guy with a crush, he did not seem like a guy in love all the time. In the first re-telling episodes the new Wayo kind of lost all backbone but do not worry, he gets more cheeky in episode 4 and 5, so we can hope for the future. I do think it’s nice though, to see the new Wayo with his little self-confidence but still being able to act like a normal person. He did not turn into a total soft person who doesn’t know the word “no”.

50kpzf

For his story line the producers stayed more loyal to his original story and it really was mostly re-telling at first and not many new scenes. I do admit that he was one of two characters I really was on the edge about whether I liked them or not. In episode four he was adorable so he had that going for him but he gets much better in episode 5, so I guess we will see even better acting from him from now on.

As for Ming and Kit: Ming seems a lot more age appropriate than before. I mean the characters are just starting their college years so it’s nice seeing him being confident but also young, cheeky and sometimes insecure. His friendship with Wayo seems a lot more to the ground too. Before it was this friendship between the cute little guy and the cheeky confident guy. This time it is more balanced and they actually seem as if this could be two real boys who have been friends for years and are there for each other when there is trouble. As for Kit, I think he’s my new favorite of the show. He seems the most natural of all of them and while you already see some of the underlying insecurities, he has a feeling of seniority about him and I appreciate it. It’s nice actual seeing him be their senior and not just the guy who gets weak when he’s around Ming. I do think their re-telling story line suffered a lot from the shortness of scenes but since the play a bigger role in the new story, I think we can all be excited for that. The two actors also mix quite well although I would like to see them a little bit more engaging since they seem a little bit stiff around each other. For episode 5, though, I give the biggest compliments to him, since the face he gave Ming, when he knew he was breaking the guy’s heart? That was acting-gold! You could see him being uncomfortable and not liking how the situation turned out. He did break the guy’s heart but at the same time he felt like an ass for doing so and didn’t really want to do it and you could see all that in his face. For now definitely my new favorite of the new cast!

While most of the others swayed from their previous characteristics, Forth is the one character most similar to his previous part. He is still tough with some fluff on the side. I did love the new scene between Pha and Forth. They seemed like friends, finally talking it out and I love how Forth accepted Pha’s interest in Yo but at the same time warned him to take good care of the little guy.

tumblr_pu8flmm68j1y3v792o2_500

We didn’t get much of Beam yet. He does seem like less of a playboy and in his scene with Kit you can already see where the story is going. Depending on the pace of the Kit-Ming story, I guess, we are getting our Forth-Beam couple. I’m curious how those two are gonna fit together. I did read the novels so yes, I’m excited.

Overall we are getting on a different ride than before and I am happy they are retelling the story since we can get to know the characters first. I think this was a really good decision since it would have been really awkward otherwise.

The background

As for the materials, rooms and so on, it’s nice and looks good, the only thing I am criticizing is the sounds in the movie. Sometimes the show gets the perfect song but a few times they did not play anything and you noticed the silence even more. I mean I was thinking: “did they screw up the editing?” At least for the first two episodes it was like that. It gets better by episode four. You can kind of see that they put more or better work into the new story then into the re-telling episodes, but I don’t really blame them for it. I think it is better this way and the new scenes, plot lines and story seem very interesting and fitting.

kxqj8f

Overall

It does seem like a nice show and I’m definitely gonna continue watching. Especially because they are releasing it with english subs. Since when are we getting that??? I love it. So let’s support them and start on this new journey.

Note: the kiss between Pha and Yo was really nice. Not just a shy little one but…well, I did not expect that much ^.^ nice seeing them change that and the actors really doing well.

So this was my review for the first four 2Moons 2 episodes. I know it is a little bit chaotic but I’m melting here. Still I hope you liked it. Now I’m gonna go back to getting grilled in the 37ยฐC sun.

Review: The Lion King (2019)

Like promised here is my review for the 2019 film The Lion King, the reboot of the 1994 animated Disney movie of the same name. It is another installment of the Disney reboots coming out over the recent years.

Before I start, can I just ask “Why are Disney releasing two of their biggest hits in one year?” I don’t get it. I know they have a lot of popular Disney movies out there but Aladdin and The Lion King definitely belong to the big ones out there and I am really surprised to see them in the same year. Well, maybe it is just because they are my favorite Disney movies.

lion-king-trailer

General

If you haven’t watched The Lion King yet…well, were you ever a kid? Okay, if you don’t remember the story: Simba, son of the current lion king Mufasa, enjoys his life as the next king and throws it in everyone’s face. He also tends to get into trouble with his best friend Nala. One day his uncle Scar (who we know is the villain in the story) tricks him into a dangerous situation and makes Mufasa try to save his son. While trying to save him he is killed by Scar and the uncle makes Simba feel guilty for his father’s death, so the little lion runs away. All alone he meets Timon, a cheeky meerkat, and Pumbaa, a friendly warthog. They teach him to let go of the past and live for the future and he grows up with them. While he is away Scar tells everyone Mufasa and Simba are dead and takes over as king of the Pride Lands. He pretty much ruins the territory. Nala goes off to search for help and meets Simba, and the rest you can watch in cinemas.

I love The Lion King but I do admit I haven’t watched it for some time since I just could not stomach Mufasa’s death again. This was such a shock and pretty much Disney’s most dramatic death scene since Bambi.

the-lion-king_pjtyrh

But when Disney announced they were gonna reboot The Lion King with a real life animated movie I was definitely gonna watch it, despite all the doubts I had. The Lion King is known for it’s great music and it has some pretty great animated song sequences. But if you want to convert that to real-life animation you have to cut a lot of the animation down since a lot of the stuff could never happen in real life (you remember the pyramid of animals in “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King”?) I doubted they could convert it well and thought the movie would suffer from that. I wasn’t totally wrong but I wasn’t right either.

The songs

The songs in the new movie are pretty much the same we know from the original, except there is a new montage song when Simba goes back to the Pride Lands…except for that I don’t think there are any other new songs. But what about the songs we know? Okay, be prepared to be a little bit disappointed here. They really did their best with the songs and to renew them with some new sass and modern styles but some songs where changed and cut down pretty obviously. The singing itself is nice and the voice cast did a good job delivering the lines according to their characters attitudes and feelings.

null

About the animation sequences: They did as much as you can do if you want to do it in real-life animation. And Disney did well. It looks really good and seems reasonable. Like Zazu not being sat on by a rhino but being distracted by the other animals. Disney did an amazing job with the sequences, they look beautiful while also staying true to the original. The only thing I did not like was the first song. In the original opening scene and the “Cicle of Life” sequence, they played a lot with the colors and light but in this animated movie it was a lot more chaotic and so. I mean the scene itself isn’t gonna happen in real life anyway but it would have been nice to see it a little more dramatic. Overall I’m pretty happy and satisfied with the songs though. The Lion King is known for it’s music and Disney did a great job at delivering them!

The animation

Now let’s talk about the animation in general. Not much to talk about there though. It. Is. Absolutely. Amazing. Seriously, it is. It looks so real and it’s so detailed…no wonder the movie cost them over 250 million US-Dollars. The animators are definitely geniuses and the animation is really great.

lion-king-main

The story and fillers

In Aladdin, they had to add a lot of filler scenes and change some stuff because it was either not politically correct anymore or it would have made no sense. There are some things you can do in 2D-animated movies, you cannot do in live-action or real-life animated movies. That’s how it is. In The Lion King there were also a few not really correct jokes and Disney changed them for the 2019 movie. In general, they stuck to the original storyline and scenes pretty tightly but the script did change to some part. While the lions pretty much stuck to the original script (except for some fillers, like Scar wanting to get Sarabi, Simba’s mother, to be his queen) the characters who suffered most from script changing were Timon and Pumbaa. Some jokes were cut while other lines were added. I do remember a few jokes you would not be able to make today, so I understand the changes. Still, Timon and Pumbaa are great in the movie and Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner did a great job at delivering their lines.

For most of the movie, Disney stayed loyal to the original and only added stuff, that made it more modern or added some interesting story lines that weren’t there in the original.

screen-shot-2019-04-03-at-9.13.54-pm

Overall

Overall the movie is a great reminder of the 1994 original and makes you remember all the great times watching the movie and being sucked into the world of The Lion King. The animation is great and the songs are modern but still similar enough to the original. I’m positively surprised by the movie and definitely love it, although different to the Aladdin reboot – the original The Lion King will still be on top of the 2019 reboot.

Still I recommend watching it in cinema. It is an adventure you don’t get everyday and while you may know the story it keeps you on your seat and enjoying the movie as if it was your first time watching the The Lion King story. So enjoy one of the biggest Disney movies in new animation and have a great time with the characters we all know and love!
