Top 10 hardest K-Pop dances (Female edition)

I love dancing. Not just K-Pop dancing but also like the dancing in the movies Step Up or let’s just say dancing in general (excpet for the standard waltz and stuff like that…I’m not much for formal dancing). Maybe I’ll make a list with the Top dance movies one day…maybe not, depending on my mood. But since I love dancing and K-Pop I decided to make a list of the hardest K-Pop dances.

Just so you know, this isn’t just according to me. I spend a long time watching other people’s lists and reading articles and tried to collect what songs where called out the most. If you know any dances I forgot (please, if the dance came out in the last two months, it’s probably not included, because no one mentioned it yet) then comment down below and I will have a look at it and adjust the list.

The choreos include at least one of the following criteria:

  • difficult dance moves (like very specific or very hard to do moves)
  • very fast tempo (can be hard or easy moves but very fast)
  • needs amazing stamina (can be hard or easy moves but no rest and moving all the time, strong movements)

Let’s start with the female version first.

10 – Miss A – Breathe / G-Friend – Me Gustas Tu / WJSN – MoMoMo / Black Pink – Boombayah / KARA – Mamma Mia

Number 10 on this list wasn’t very clear as you may see. All of these dances were called out a lot for different reasons. ‘Breathe’ by miss A for being hard on the stamina and the body, because of the hip and core movements and the few and precious breaks in the dance. G-Friend’s ‘Me Gustas Tu’ for its fast tempo and continuous movements. Cosmic Girls’ ‘MoMoMo’ debut track for its big movements and fast tempo. ‘Boombayah’ was also named as one of the faster tracks with big as well as sometimes complicated moves. And KARA’s ‘Mamma Mia’ was often named as a dance that needs stamina and has many little movements. All of these deserve a place on this list and I just didn’t think it was right to just choose one and put it in this list. So here you have number ten =D

Side note: Don’t worry, this is the only place where I’ll put more than one song

9 – SNSD – Catch Me If You Can

When I started watching videos and reading lists of the hardest K-Pop dances I was kind of suprised at how often SNSD or Girls’ Generation was named. So I decided to watch their dances again and I admit, it looks hard and probably needs a lot of stamina but because the girls do it so flawlessly you don’t really realise how good they actually are.

‘Catch Me If You Can’ features a few complicated moves but I think mostly it is hard because it tests your endurance. It exhausts you stamina and I’m amazed that the managed to sing while doing this.

8 – Red Velvet – Dumb Dumb

I don’t like the song so the moment it appeared a second time on a list I decided to look up the song and watch the choreo a few times. Many may ask why ‘Dumb Dumb’ is supposed to be hard, it looks easy, doesn’t it? But that’s the whole trick behind some K-Pop dances. It looks really easy and in the end you realise it is not…not at all. ‘Dumb Dumb’ features constant movement and no breaks, as well as complicated moves in terms of details. You have to complete every move perfectly to make it look good and that plus the constant moving makes the dance hard and difficult. Compliments to Red Velvet for making it look very easy even though it isn’t!

7 – Wonder Girls – Like This

giphy3

‘Like This’ falls in the same category as ‘Dumb Dumb’. Looks amazingly easy but is very hard. ‘Like This’ has shaking, jumping, shaking, sweeping and so on…it features more movements that you think and if you actually manage this song with your stamina in one go and without dying you can definitely count yourself as a person with quite some endurance and a fit body.

6 – T-ara – Lovey Dovey

tumblr_m1nb5asswd1r4nct5o1_500

‘Lovey Dovey’ looks like a lot of fun and interesting but don’t be fooled. ‘Lovey Dovey’ has so much shuffling, it fills most of the song. So, sure, you don’t have to learn many moves, but just try to do shuffling without falling, looking stupid or doing something that doesn’t really count as shuffling but just jumping around and ruining the floor. T-ara manage to make it look easy and I cannot even imagine how long it took them to be that good at it.

5 – SNSD – I Got A Boy

i-got-a-boy-choreo-gg

SNSD’s ‘I Got A Boy’…ha, this song is not only a little bit longer than other songs but it also includes so many different music styles. And when the music changes, the dance has to change too, right? So ‘I Got A Boy’ features a lot of different dance moves, not necessarily difficult ones, but some of them need a lot of stamina, some are just plain easy but really fast and some are hard to do without looking like a dork. And while they do stand around in the beginning there aren’t many breaks during the song itself. Good work, Girls’ Generation!

SNSD – ‘I Got A Boy’ Live

4 – G-Friend – Rough

large

G-Friend is known for being one of the fastest rising girl groups in the K-Pop industry at the moment. Why? Many reasons but one of them are their dances. Their choreo matches the songs really well and while girl groups normally feature sexy, cute or funny moves, G-Friend’s dances are fast, big, sometimes complicated and often without breaks. Rough is a really good example of that. It’s fast and has big as well as small and complicated moves. These girls definitely have some stamina.

G-Friend – ‘Rough’ Live

3 – G-Friend – Navillera

giphy4

So another G-Friend song right after. Well, I understand why. ‘Rough’ is hard and ‘Navillera’ isn’t any easier. It shows G-Friend’s dance style: big and small moves, complicated and easy ones and moving continuously with no breaks even when you are the one singing (which is often the point where one gets to rest).

Also, for all those you don’t know: G-Friend actually went onto the variety idol show ‘Weekly Idol’ and performed a 2x tempo version of …I think ‘Rough’ and ‘Navillera’? I’m not sure which songs they were exactly but since all of their songs feature an amazing dance choreo it doesn’t really matter. They danced twice as fast and were amazing!

2 – SNSD – Into The New World

tumblr_lz3iprh3nk1qdi4yuo1_500

This, I think, is the oldest song on this list…yea, I’m actually quite sure it is. I never really watched a performance of the song before but when I did, I totally understood why people said it was hard. ‘Into The New World’ is hard because it is fast, powerful, cheery and with big movements. It is SNSD’s debut song and it features an amazing but definitely stamina-testing choreo. Maybe I should use this for my workout, I would definitely get some endurance training!

SNSD – ‘Into The New World (Remix)’ Live

1 – After School – First Love

tumblr_mo640ozyl81qmfh5vo1_500

This song was on nearly every list I looked at. And I didn’t have to think about it more than 1 second. Why? Because its choreo features pole-dancing and pole-dancing is one of the hardest sports. You have to train and commit to it and really know how to use your muscles and body in the right way or you’ll fall down like a rock. After School not only managed to show us amazing pole-dancing, they even sang and performed while doing it. And the song is actually more of a ballad than a dance song, so I think it is amazing that they didn’t just stand behind the mics but gave us fans such an amazing dance ^.^

After School – ‘First Love’ Live

Here a few honorable mentions: The Ark – ‘The Light’ / Hyuna – ‘Red’ / Chocolat – ‘Syndrome’ / BoA – ‘Only One’

So, this was my list for most difficult K-Pop dances, the female edition. The male edition is also ready and I will upload it in a few days. I hope you liked the post, if yes, yippie yay yay! If not, not my problem, I had fun. If you have questions, comments or additional suggestions comment down below =D

Thanks for reading and bye bye!!!

Top 10 Movie Ending Credits

Sorry for not writing in such a long time, well…long time haha. It wasn’t THAT long, was it? Well, doesn’t matter now. So, what is this about: A few days ago I watched the movie “The Huntsmen: Winter’s War” and it reminded me about how great the credits of the prequel were. Not just the sound but also the looks of it and the overall feeling. Of course the credits are not as important as the intro or a movie in general but I think a good movie needs good credits so you’ll leave the cinema with the right feeling.

So here are my favourite ending credits in movies.

Side note: Criteria was sound, visual, overall feeling, mixes well with the movie ending.

Side note: Please note that there, of course, won’t be many movies, if any, from BEFORE 2000. Because the visual wasn’t that good back then and because I don’t watch many before 2000 movies. I may have forgot some movies, so if you know ANY amazing credits (and I don’t mean the credits scene but the sequence) then please, do tell!!!

Extra – Step Up 3D (2010)

The Step Up franchise is a series of movies about dancing and life and…a little bit of romance maybe? Sometimes there are witty comments but in general it’s a dance movie franchise. But where there is dance there is music, normally. So of course the soundtrack would have to be good. Why these credits made it onto the list? Because they cover a nice song mixed with funny but good background. The cast is having fun and also showing their dancing in the credits and I love how the credits work with special effects and the dance scenes combined. Though, I do admit that I like the song for dancing, but not in general, hehe

10 –  Iron Man (2008)

The Iron Man franchise is known for being amazingly popular and crazy about the badass music (like “Highway to Hell” from ACDC and others). So the credits had to be good. I actually couldn’t really decide because for me the visual of the 3rd movie was the best, the song of the 2nd movie was amazing and the 1st one had the best combination, that’s why that one is here now ^.^ it matches with the movie and the ending and shows some new kind of effects for the credit sequence.

9 – Marvel’s The Avengers (2012)

The song is not special and the whole franchise is probably highly overrated but the visuals are just sooo good, that I had to include it here. The effects and the visuals are detailed and looking good and mixed with the music it matches the mood of the movie pretty well.

8 – Zootopia (2016)

This one matches the movie itself the best. Probably because the movie is actually still going while the credits are starting. Doesn’t matter, it counts and I really love how the put the credits into the scenes of the movie and also that they showed you who was voice-acting for what character. Also the song is kinda annoyingly catchy.

7 – X-Men First Class (2011)

This one matches the movie itself…kinda. I do think that the credits give you a really amazing feeling when you finished watching. You have the feeling the movie was better than it was (and that from someone who absolutely adores this movie). It gives the whole X-Men thing a badass vibe. Also the visual is a mix between something relevant for the movie (all the x’s and looking like genes) and an old school style (which also matches since the movie is set before the actual X-Men movies). I think it sounds awesome and leaves you with the perfect feeling to leave the cinema.

6 – Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)/ Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)

I just could not decide. Harry Potter is known for it’s amazing score and while the just give you normal black screen-white font credits sometimes, those two movies did their own thing and went with a theme that matches the movie. In the 3rd one that is the Marauder’s Map and in the 4th installment it’s the paper in the goblet. I really like the visuals and it matches the sound and overall it goes nicely with the movie itself.

5 – The Hobbit. Battle Of The Five Armies (2014)

I do admit, I’m not a big fan of the song. I like it but I’m not a fan and for me it could be something else too. But aside from that, I love the visuals. It’s amazing how it looks like the drew all those people and the cast and maybe they did maybe not, doesn’t matter, it still looks great and together with the song it gives you a kind of melancholic feeling (which matches since you know this is the last one of ‘The Hobbit’ and you know how the story’s gonna go). Overall it has this “This is the end and goodbye to everyone” feeling which is touching and fitting.

4 – Aquaman (2018)

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a video of the credits. Well, I guess it’s cause the movie is still in cinemas.

So Aquaman’s ending song is really beautiful and the video and pictures to it are amazing. I actually sat in the cinema not just because there is ALWAYS an end credits scene with those movies but also because I just loved the ending. It showed small replicas of the scenes and locations in the movie and it looked amazing. The song fits really well, although I do admit the song goes on your nerves after a short time. Well, it’s not number 1 is it now?

3 – The Huntsman: Winter’s War (2016)

The song sticks. It really does. I love it. The visual is just a copy from the first installment, but it still looks good. That’s why it’s number 3. I love how they managed to stay by their concept and have similar credits to the first movie. It gives you this really big badass feeling.

2 – Titanic (1997)

Why is this here? Was there anything special in those credits? Actually I don’t think so. The only thing why it’s here is because there is this special scene where Rose goes into the big hall and meets Jack at the top of the stairs and it’s part of the ending sequence. The famous song “My Heart will go on” is already going strong and you see this scene and it ALWAYS makes me cry because I just think “You, audience, you’re all dead and Rose will never ever experience the happiness she had with Jack again, ’cause he’s dead too.” Titanic just tells such a romantic but tragic story and the song (even though it’s been overly used ever since the movie) just trumps every other movie below it (in this list, I mean ^.^)

1 – Snow White and the Huntsman (2012)

So, this movie is probably the one movie why I’m even writing this post. When I first saw the credits for ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ I was like “Oh wow, that’s amazing” and my head went kind of blank because I was actually watching the credits with the same concentration as the movie (I watch nearly ALL movies with a serious face, whether they are good or bad…they have to be really boring or bad for me to even think of leaving the room or concentrating on something else).

I love the song, the visuals and the credits give the movie an even more dramatic feeling. Doesn’t matter how much drama was behind the scenes or how good or bad the movie was, no one should complain about the credits. For me this is the best movie credits sequence, there is.

Honorary mentions:

Wreck It, Ralph!, American Ultra, Harry Potter and the Order Of Phoenix and probably a 100 more but I cannot remember, so bleh =P

So, that’s it. I hope the post did something for you, maybe even be a little bit entertaining or interesting, if not, I don’t care, not my fault, if yes, yippie, I’m just THAT good!!!

Hahaha, no joke aside, I hope it was a little different from what you usually read and see you next time.

Top 15 male KPOP group leaders

While I think about what story or posts to post here, I decided to give in to my fangirling…at least a little bit. Let’s see where it goes ^.^

Please note, this is MY opinion. I DO try to give reasons (other than ‘he’s soooo cute’ or ‘he’s soooo hot’ or ‘I just love him’) but since I don’t know all K-Pop groups and since I’m not a fan of all of them I may have skipped one of two…sorry =P

These Top 15 are chosen from 3 criterias: Character, Popularity and Talent which translates into – they are the most known person in their group, they are really talented, they have a unique character. Some of them qualify for one of the criterias, some for all of them. Although, for me, it was less important how talented they themselves are and more important how they interact with the other members, how they try to make their group more known and how they deal with problems and their overall efforts. Because of all of this, some of the results may differ from what you expected, while others might just fit your opinion.

So here are my Top 15 male K-Pop leaders:

Side note: I’m a girl, so sorry it’s just for male K-Pop groups…if I have the time I will see if I can write about girl groups too.

15 – Rap Monster (BTS)rap monster1

I like BTS, I love their music and their style and when their song ‘Fire’ came out I was like OMG OMG OMG…BUT I don’t know who is who except for Rap Monster (which btw I think is a strange choice for a stage name).

So, RM made this list because of the Talent and Character criteria. Although he is the main rapper of his group he has quite a funny character and charm and he has shown some cute sides before which also goes against his deep voice. He is also known for his talented rapping and I do think he composed some songs or at least wrote some…like I said I’m not too much of a fan, so I don’t know. But his name is definitely known in the K-Pop world.

Side note: He’s number 15, so I don’t have to write too much, right?

14 – Suho (EXO)suho1

He is the leader for one of the most known, most popular and highest popularity rising K-Pop group out there, EXO. I don’t know much about him, his background or any other members really (I’m just proud I even know all their names and what they look like, as well as some of their songs), but I do know that he has quite a funny personality and at the same time is reliable as a leader. I think he still has to grow some more in the ‘getting more popular through variety shows etc’ part but expect for that I think he is doing great and you can see he really is trying his best for himself and his group.

Side note: I like EXO. Like, not love, so sorry if you are…ok, I forgot what the fan name was…EXO-L? Exotic? Oh, I give up…

13 – Eunkwang (BTOB)eunkwang

Some people may be like “Whaaaa~~~” now because he is higher than Rap Monster and Suho but like I said before this is about my opinion and the three criterias I told you. And while Suho and Rap Monster are more known than Eunkwang, it is mostly because they are in more known groups than BtoB (which I think is unfortunate because BtoB is great and they are really funny).

So Eunkwang is on this least because he is an amazing and talented singer (and the main vocal), I think quite reliable when it comes to it and because he has the variety charm of a A-Class K-Pop star. No, seriously, I don’t know if it is his actual personality or if he is just that good at variety but he knows when he has to lose face to be funny, when a comment is enough and he also gets along quickly with other people. That is why he is Number 13 on this list.

12 – Soohyun (U-Kiss)soohyun

Another leader who is here because of talent and character. Soohyun is also the main vocal for U-Kiss and has the character of a dork. He doesn’t care about his age and still acts cute. He tries his best whatever he is doing and he is reliable as the leader of U-Kiss. He knows how to make people laugh and seems to get along with others quickly and easily. He also managed to get U-Kiss through some tough times of member changes and some scandals and I really think he deserves Number 12.

11 – Jinyoung (B1A4)jinyoung

B1A4 have those times when they are really big and then a few months where you don’t hear a word. I think at the moment we are in the no word phase and I really hope they have a comeback soon. Jinyoung is here because of talent mostly. He wrote soooo many of B1A4’s songs, so many hit songs, and is quite good at composing and writing lyrics and in general he is very talented in music. He is also reliable as a leader but knows when it’s time for a joke or how he can make something funny (even though his personality is quite down to earth compared to Number 12 & 13). The only thing I ask of him: Please try a little bit better with your english because some of the english lyrics are just…well, wrong. Otherwise I think he is a great leader and a funny guy.

10 – Yongguk (B.A.P)yongguk

This person…why is he here? Well, he is definitely talented, not only in his groups as a rapper but also as a solo act or featured artist, but I think I remember him being surprisingly funny on variety shows, maybe a little bit quiet from time to time but I think that is his responsible side for his group. He is also quite known throughout K-Pop and he also went through some troubles with his group and his entertainment agency. I just hope we hear more of him in the future.

9 – JB (GOT7)jb

JB from GOT7 is one of the leaders who fits all three categories: Talent, Character and Popularity. His name got out even before GOT7, as an actor in Dream High 2 (was that the name…yes, I’m quite sure…it’s been so long though) and as a duo with other GOT7-member Junior in JJ Project (oh, I love that song). He is also a talented dancer, singer and a reliable leader with a funny but maybe a little bit shy side, although he seems to get along with other people and new aquaintances quite well.

8 – Yonghwa (CNBlue)yonghwa

Yonghwa is without a doubt the most known member of his group, as well as a talented singer and musician. Also he is good at variety, with a nice joke here and there, and some funny qualities as a host for variety shows. I don’t really know much about his qualities as a leader for a group, since I don’t know much about CNBlue, but he is also a great actor and also had main roles in different K-dramas. He definitely fits the all-around-talented description.

7 – Leeteuk (Super Junior)leeteuk1

When you ask about the most known leaders in K-Pop history his name just HAS to pop up in the top ten. Leeteuk is one of the first K-Pop idols who got known for his amazing MC and hosting skills as well as variety side. He is also a reliable and responsible leader and managed to keep Super Junior going even though there are sooo many different characteristics in the group. And even after his military duty of 2 year (mandatory in S.Korea) he still gives his best and shows that he hasn’t forgotten how to do things.

6 – B.I. (iKon)bi1

This guy…I admit I don’t really like him but I also realize he kind of has to be on this list. B.I. is talented, as a rapper, as a musician, as a composer. He is definitely a leader type and definitely knows what swag means. Maybe it’s because the group is a rookie group, maybe it’s just his personality but I DO think he lacks a little bit in the variety department (but also iKON-member Bobby balances that out perfectly for the whole group). Why I still don’t like him? I don’t really know. Sometimes he seems like a total douche and sometimes like the cutest guy ever…maybe he’s just not my style.

Side note: So, now it’s getting a little bit more fuzzy. With the following 4 people I had no idea how to place them – except for number 1. Some may agree, some may not, but stay until the end and maybe I can tell you my reasons for placing them this way.

5 – N (VIXX)

vixx_nFirst off, VIXX is my favourite group out there and I did want to place N higher, but tbh that would just have been unfair to some others. Maybe in a few years he will be there ^.^

So N is a great dancer and singer and has the charisma to pull some those crazy VIXX-music videos off. But the one reason why he is here? Because he excels at variety. He knows how to be funny and make people laugh, especially the other members. And even though people tease him and make fun of him he takes it well and teases them back. I think he knows when to be serious but also doesn’t take himself to serious. He figured out what makes idols great at variety: When they build a character for themselves. And he did it and is still doing it. He may or may not be the most known person in his group, I cannot really judge that because I love them whole but I do think he’s also very good at presenting his group and dealing with fights or conflicts.

4 – Doojoon (Beast)doojoon1

Another character for himself. He is a good singer and dancer and definitely a good leader. In my opinion, though, what makes him special, is his ability to fade into the background when necessary and shine brightly when it’s time. He knows when to give the spotlight to others and when he has to step in because a situation is becoming awkward. He also managed to build a character for himself and show his great variety skills. Combined with his shine or not shine skills, every variety show with Beast seems like a blast and makes people laugh their hearts out.

3 – G-Dragon (Big Bang)gd

Some may hate me for putting him at spot 3 but tbh I wanted to put him even lower, still in the Top 10, but lower. Why? Because the main reason why he is so adored and at the top, is the popularity of Big Bang in general and his solo acts. I think he is amazingly talented, probably the most talented one on this list, and he knows how to make a performance great and make Big Bang look breathtaking but in my opinion that’s pretty much it. Compared to others on the list Big Bang in general and G-Dragon lacks in the variety department. He knows how to funny and cute but not as good as others. Like I said, in general, BB seems to be lacking in that area (except for Seungri, he fits there perfectly). But since he is so crazy talented and does seem to be a reliable leader I put im 3rd, even if it goes a little bit against what I really feel.

2 – Zico (Block B)zico1

Another person who is crazy talented. Some of you may want to hack me to pieces for putting him in front of G-Dragon, some may applaud. Why is he placed higher than the king of K-Pop? Easy answer, he has the variety appeal. He does not only have talent and a modest side but also some variety skills and knows how to make his group shine. He is without a doubt the most known member of Block B but still promotes them even if he has a solo appearance in a show. Also he lead Block B through some serious troubles and scandals and managed to learn from them (at least it seems that way).

And the number one goes to:

1 – Sunggyu (Infinite)infinite sunggyu1

He managed to build himself an image and a character, on variety shows, in interviews, in reality TV. And he doesn’t even seem to need funny jokes anymore but just his image to make people laugh and joke around. Although his build image seems a little pouty and like he’s holding a grudge sometimes he gives his best and seems approachable and funny.

And beside all the variety his voice is amazing and he manages to keep Infinite together and teases the other members back when they annoy or tease him instead of taking it the wrong way. Although he also seemed to be somewhat on the problematic side when Woohyun became the main vocal of Infinite, he managed to get through that.

In my opinion he deserves the Top spot for this all-around personality and talent.

So, after this list, I do have to say, that for me, musical talent isn’t the only thing that counts. As a singer, I wouldn’t care about their variety talent, in that case, the list would look very different, but as idols, I do think that term contains a great deal of talent, variety and image. That’s why it looks like this. I did try not to get myself too involved in what groups are big and what are not that big (as well as when they had their debut and so on), otherwise SHINee and Teen Top would have been on there and EXO would have definitely snatched one of the top 5 spots, but like I said, I tried to judge talent, variety and popularity of the leaders and not the group.

I hope this was fun to read and I did not offend you…if yes, HOW???? I definitely didn’t say bad things about fans and even if I said someone seems like a jackass, I never said he actually is one =P So if you are offended…I have no idea why and tbh I don’t really care -__- (just don’t read it then)

If you have a different opinion or think the same, comment down below, maybe post your top 10 or if I missed someone you can tell me who and why and I will put him in and throw someone else out *smirk* and if you know about something important for the list (like an event or something else that happened in the groups or with the leaders) which you think has to be mentioned, also comment down below.

If you don’t write me, I cannot consider or think about your opinion, because I’m not a mind-reader, so if you really want to tell, then comment ^.^
