2Moons 2 – Reboot Review

On June 29th we started into a new adventure…2Moons 2 The Series started airing and with it came a pressure to perform well. The special pre-episode told us the first 3-4 episodes are gonna tell the story we all know and then the new plot lines are starting. For now 5 episodes have aired so I will review those for now and maybe a full on review later on.

A new start

Not long ago they announced they would re-tell some of the story from the previous 2Moons and would then go on to tell new story lines. So do not expect too much from the first 3 episodes since those are pretty much just a re-telling of the story and not much else.

x1080-1s2

Suprisingly the re-telling brings quite some new things and dynamics which you may have thought about but not seen before.
We get more insight into Kit’s feelings, as well as some spin on the back story between Phana and Wayo. Their story seems to have a whole different undertone but I give that to the new actors (which I will say more about later). In general the reboot/season 2 brings a whole different aura and feels like you may watch something new with a little bit of a deja-vu feeling beside it.

The Cast

I wasn’t really into the new cast at the beginning. Not because I liked the old one that much but because their acting in teasers and trailers seemed shallow. So what to really expect from the new cast? They are better than I imagined, really, BUT they are really different than before. You know the saying that every actor and actress gives new characteristics to a character? Well, this time it is definitely like that.

cover-2moons

So what changed? Well, Pha is definitely more tough character-wise and does seem a little bit colder. I think that fits really well considering Wayo never really knew his feelings were reciprocated and it would have been strange if he never noticed anything. We get some back story of how Pha finally realized his own feelings and stepped out of his comfort zone to admit he liked a guy (compliments for having such good friends who wanted him to be honest and support him). This side was totally missing from season 1. Also Pha seems a lot more playful around his friends and later on when he gets closer to Wayo. In general he seems to be the kind of guy who is really close and sweet when he knows someone well and kind of cold but polite when he meets some stranger. Before he was mostly handsome and in love with Wayo but this time he is a lot more playful in the relationship. I like the new characteristics a lot and it leads to a new set of scenes with Wayo. While this playfulness does make him seem younger, the kissing and more intimate scenes with Wayo give the character some feeling of being grown up, so we also get that.

Wayo is a little bit more awkward which doesn’t really hurt the role (since the character is awkward too) and also he does seem like someone who is in love with Pha for years. Previously he had more backbone and while he did seem like a guy with a crush, he did not seem like a guy in love all the time. In the first re-telling episodes the new Wayo kind of lost all backbone but do not worry, he gets more cheeky in episode 4 and 5, so we can hope for the future. I do think it’s nice though, to see the new Wayo with his little self-confidence but still being able to act like a normal person. He did not turn into a total soft person who doesn’t know the word “no”.

50kpzf

For his story line the producers stayed more loyal to his original story and it really was mostly re-telling at first and not many new scenes. I do admit that he was one of two characters I really was on the edge about whether I liked them or not. In episode four he was adorable so he had that going for him but he gets much better in episode 5, so I guess we will see even better acting from him from now on.

As for Ming and Kit: Ming seems a lot more age appropriate than before. I mean the characters are just starting their college years so it’s nice seeing him being confident but also young, cheeky and sometimes insecure. His friendship with Wayo seems a lot more to the ground too. Before it was this friendship between the cute little guy and the cheeky confident guy. This time it is more balanced and they actually seem as if this could be two real boys who have been friends for years and are there for each other when there is trouble. As for Kit, I think he’s my new favorite of the show. He seems the most natural of all of them and while you already see some of the underlying insecurities, he has a feeling of seniority about him and I appreciate it. It’s nice actual seeing him be their senior and not just the guy who gets weak when he’s around Ming. I do think their re-telling story line suffered a lot from the shortness of scenes but since the play a bigger role in the new story, I think we can all be excited for that. The two actors also mix quite well although I would like to see them a little bit more engaging since they seem a little bit stiff around each other. For episode 5, though, I give the biggest compliments to him, since the face he gave Ming, when he knew he was breaking the guy’s heart? That was acting-gold! You could see him being uncomfortable and not liking how the situation turned out. He did break the guy’s heart but at the same time he felt like an ass for doing so and didn’t really want to do it and you could see all that in his face. For now definitely my new favorite of the new cast!

While most of the others swayed from their previous characteristics, Forth is the one character most similar to his previous part. He is still tough with some fluff on the side. I did love the new scene between Pha and Forth. They seemed like friends, finally talking it out and I love how Forth accepted Pha’s interest in Yo but at the same time warned him to take good care of the little guy.

tumblr_pu8flmm68j1y3v792o2_500

We didn’t get much of Beam yet. He does seem like less of a playboy and in his scene with Kit you can already see where the story is going. Depending on the pace of the Kit-Ming story, I guess, we are getting our Forth-Beam couple. I’m curious how those two are gonna fit together. I did read the novels so yes, I’m excited.

Overall we are getting on a different ride than before and I am happy they are retelling the story since we can get to know the characters first. I think this was a really good decision since it would have been really awkward otherwise.

The background

As for the materials, rooms and so on, it’s nice and looks good, the only thing I am criticizing is the sounds in the movie. Sometimes the show gets the perfect song but a few times they did not play anything and you noticed the silence even more. I mean I was thinking: “did they screw up the editing?” At least for the first two episodes it was like that. It gets better by episode four. You can kind of see that they put more or better work into the new story then into the re-telling episodes, but I don’t really blame them for it. I think it is better this way and the new scenes, plot lines and story seem very interesting and fitting.

Overall

It does seem like a nice show and I’m definitely gonna continue watching. Especially because they are releasing it with english subs. Since when are we getting that??? I love it. So let’s support them and start on this new journey.

Note: the kiss between Pha and Yo was really nice. Not just a shy little one but…well, I did not expect that much ^.^ nice seeing them change that and the actors really doing well.

So this was my review for the first four 2Moons 2 episodes. I know it is a little bit chaotic but I’m melting here. Still I hope you liked it. Now I’m gonna go back to getting grilled in the 37Β°C sun.

2Moons 2 – Yes or No?

So recently 2moons 2 The series released a pre-episode 00 with some more content and interviews.

Let me tell you here and now, I was never a hater of the new series but I had my doubts. All the fans are used to the original cast and I doubted we could just start anew with such little time between both seasons. The chemistry and the new cast had to be amazing to make the series worthwhile. Today I’m here to write about episode 00 and what to expect from season 2 of the series and what I think about the new series now after watching it.

Where does the story start?

Right when they announced a new season everyone got excited, then they announced they were casting all the main actors anew and everyone started wondering would the story start out from the beginning? Were they gonna start where season one ended?

g2qbvf

Well, in episode 00 we finally got an answer: we are gonna re-watch some scenes from the first season with the new actors while the series will include a lot of new story. Also this time, as it has been announced some time ago, will include more about all three couples. Including all three couples and there love lines is probably one of the biggest differences to the previous seasons and might give the series a whole different story pace, especially as the previous one was pretty slow paced. This time it will feature the soft PhaYo, the cheeky MingKit and the passionate ForthBeam love lines but as I saw from some scenes we are getting quite some different story. While the beginning might be the same, this time they are going a little bit farther with the story, meaning we do see MingKit finally getting much closer, we see PhaYo fight through their jealousy and…well, we didn’t see anything about ForthBeam before so that will be a new thing in general.

Since I’m a big fan of the ForthBeam story line but the couples in general, I cannot wait to see all three on screen.

Do the characters change with the new cast?

Easy answer: yes. When I first saw the new cast I didn’t feel much. They seemed to have lifeless acting and it didn’t really assure me we are gonna get anything from the new series, so I think it was a good idea to make this episode 00 because I did change my opinion. Of course, I cannot judge everything from just a few scenes but the scenes I saw seemed good and finally I got some feelings from them (maybe it was because before you didn’t see them actually talk a lot in any of the teasers? πŸ™‚ )

50kpzf

Of course, with the new cast the characters are bound to change a little bit. Pha seems to be a lot more cold when he’s cold and a lot more soft when he’s soft. So he’s even more different depending on who he’s dealing with. One big thing that seems to be different is him not being a total softie when dealing with Wayo. Pha in the previous season went total softie when he finally realized who Wayo was but I think in this season, also because there is more story and not just them getting closer and closer, Pha also has more back bone when it comes to Wayo. When you think “oh so they’re not gonna be lovey dovey” think again, I do think they will still include that and there will be scenes to giggle our hearts out. I like Pha’s change I have to admit, since I’m a big fan of all-consuming love lines that still say when something is wrong or bothering them.

As for MingKit, I think they changed the most. This time Kit isn’t just the senior being pushed around by his junior and not being able to deal with his feelings straight out but he also seems to really be Ming’s senior and have some air of seniority about him. That was one of the things I did not like about the previous season: while I loved the cheekiness between them, Ming just kind of went over Kit and it was not noticeable at all, that Kit should have been more grown-up and Ming’s senior. This time Ming still seems to be the more active and cheeky part in the relationship but you feel that he gives more respect to Kit and the relationship seems a lot more serious and grown-up then before where it was mostly playful.

I like that change because it gives a whole new side to the characters but also to the couple in general. Also I love the the doctors gang around Pha seem to be a lot closer and more equal than before. Before it seemed like Pha was the number one and the others were “just” amazing but this time they seem to be closer as friends and actually joke around with each other more.

kxqj8f

As for Forth and Beam. I don’t know if we haven’t seen many of Beam’s playboy scenes or if they did turn it down a notch. In the interviews they said he is still a playboy but well, we’ll see. As for Forth he seems less like a love-struck puppy strolling around Wayo and more bad boyish and grown-up. But behind all that mature charm there is still some sentimentality and softness. I think it’s gonna be interesting to see them act together and what they make of it. I cannot really judge about them here, because their teaser scenes weren’t much and their story is the one that is most changed for the new season since they didn’t really do much previously.

Do they have chemistry?

Surprisingly they do. Before watching the special episode I thought they didn’t have any but after watching the interviews and teaser scenes from the episode it seems quite good. The cast seems to get along well with each other and seem comfortable and the scenes seem mostly natural and go along with their characters.

x1080-1s2

Overall, is it worth a watch?

Before watching the special episode I’d have worried whether I should watch or not. I just didn’t feel the special factor with the new cast but after watching the special episode my doubts kind of went away (mostly) and I’ll definitely check out the new series and give it a chance. So I’m definitely gonna check out like the first four episodes and then decide from then on whether I like it or not and I would recommend the same to everyone else. Let’s give them a chance especially because it does look good and promising. Also the cast and series got the okay from Chiffon Cake herself, so πŸ˜‰

For all the international fans who want to watch, apparently it is being released here:Β Mello Thailand Youtube
The series starts airing on June 29th.Β

HIStory3: Trapped – Mid-Season Review

Like I promised here is a mid season review for the ongoing BL series HIStory3: Trapped. I hope you like it and check out the series or continue watching if you are already watching it.

General information

Trapped is a 2019 BL series from Taiwan and is the…wait let me count…sixth installment of the highly popular HIStory franchise. It is also the first installment of the HIStory3 series. It consists of 20 episodes and airs Tuesday and Wednesday. It is currently on episode 11 (aired on the 14th).

history3_trap1

It tells the stories of Meng Shao Fei (played by Jake Hsu), a police officer with a temper, and Tang Yi (played by Chris Wu), a cold gangster boss. For four years Meng Shao Fei has followed Tang Yi around to find out what happened to his senior police officer without getting anything from him and Tang Yi has tolerated the police officer at his side. One day, through an unfortunate incident, they grow closer and start to develop something more than just simple interest in each other’s past…

The expectations

I still remember after the three stories of HIStory got released and they announced HIStory2, people were going crazy and a lot of people (me included) doubted the producers could get us with their sweet and passionate story lines again. Well, HIStory2 broke through all those expectations and definitely proved us all wrong – it was even better than the previous installments. It was just amazing how they could suck you in with just 8 episodes (back then) and make you cheer, groan, cry, laugh, giggle and scream with the couples and their stories. Despite all the doubts they fulfilled all the expectations and made you love the couples.

56405445_2436684456350431_2519161922998239232_n

Of course, when they announced HIStory3 fans were on cloud 9 again and the expectations became even higher. I mean it’s the HIStory franchise…yeah, so now you know how much pressure lies on Trapped. One question has to be asked: Does it live up to the hype?

Unexpected surprise

I will not straight out answer this question yet. In my opinion an ending can make a series golden or end a show in general, so I won’t answer this question directly before watching all 20 episodes. I will try to answer the question for the first 10 episodes though.

tumblr_piswwje23k1w3f7b6_1280

Trapped had a lot of pressure and in my opinion, after watching half of the series, it comes out on top. Trapped starts of at a point where you don’t know where it will go at all and I read an interesting comment somewhere. The viewer had no idea what the story and atmosphere of the series was gonna be like after watching episode one. And no, that person did not mean it as a compliment. I do though. I remember watching the other installments and there are not many parts where the producers didn’t just throw you into the story and let you figure out everything on your own.
It may not sound like a compliment but it is. Being thrown into the story and not knowing all of the facts while some are just there and you have to deal with them, surprisingly brings a lot of good with it.

d5dgr0pw0ae8dde

The best advantage? It feels more natural: The story development, the feelings between the leads, the characters, just everything. It’s not just a slow introduction like with other shows but it starts right from episode one. Also, since there are just some parts that are just “there” and you won’t get an explanation or background knowledge to it, there will always be some curiosity about it. We all want what we cannot get, right?

05ffa9bd48d39593c290b89a5f10f90690b4ec2cr1-1001-556v2_hq

Another thing I liked with the new story line and characters: I really enjoy story lines where the leads do already know each other and don’t just randomly fall in love with a person they have known for 10 minutes. So bonus points for the show here.

Oh and DO NOT underestimate the show’s humor and touchy scenes. While there has not been many kisses, you feel like you get so much. And the humor is sometimes just a nice underlying humor while in some scenes it’s straight up comedy.

The characters/cast

Big compliments to the actors. They seem so natural and their chemistry is really good. Not just the main leads but also the second leads, Jack (played by Andy Bian) and Zhao Li An (played by Kenny Chen). All of them match so well with each other.
I like that the main leads and the second leads are so different and it’s not the same thing repeated.

tumblr_inline_pim2w295w51w3f7b6_1280

And for everyone who likes it when both of the leads have some…hm…let’s say sass in them: this is definitely it. While in other shows there is a clear top and bottom in the relationship… yes, it is also pretty clear in this one BUT I just love how Tang Yi seems to just give in to Shao Fei. Shao Fei is so different from Tang Yi, he is sometimes impulsive, has quite the temper and is pretty direct about what he thinks and what he does while Tang Yi seems more collected and quiet. And maybe it’s because he is like this that he seems unable to say No to Shao Fei. I just adore it!

It’s not like with other shows where the top lead just adores the passive lead and finds him so cute he cannot say No but it is actually because Shao Fei can be pretty adamant about what he wants.

The difference

I do not want to say too much about the story and the feelings, since there are still 10 more episodes but I will have to mention some things, otherwise it won’t be a review πŸ˜€

The story line is not totally unusual. There are some stories about a gangster and a not-gangster out there but the way they tell it, it does seem quite unusual. The story is not one of those dark and broody gangster BL films out there but is actually sweet and nice. Don’t imagine rainbows and unicorns just yet though.

dvkl5umwsaehdu4

Two things that totally make this show different than their previous installments. First, there is a lot more action (or “action-y”) scenes in it then with the other shows. I know there were some volleyball scenes in Boundary Crossing and an almost car crash in Obsessed, but this one has more fight scenes and a lot more serious action scenes at that. The second difference to the other parts and the one reason why I recommend this to every BL fan: We do not get a lot of BL shows where both leads are adults with a job (or something like that – is gangster boss a job?). No one of the leads is in college, training or at school. Both have an equal standing. Most of the BL shows out there either take place at school, in college, in training or at least started out at those places and therefore still keep some of that school charm with it (best example SOTUS 2).

7989034c5d46ea38c_w

Trapped does not carry anything like that with it. Like I said, both have an equal standing and since they both work in a different area of expertise, there is also no senior-junior thing going on. This show is just about two people with their own agenda who get together and slowly fall for each other. I mean a relationship can be totally different if you see the other person as a senior or junior. Trapped offers new dynamics and perspectives and gives the characters a charming grown-up vibe that blows some fresh air into the BL world.

Oh my…the drama is coming…

56f483432d9ceb409f1a9aa85517db89f24cf533r1-750-764v2_hq

Overall

Overall, I think, Trapped is definitely worth a try. I do recommend checking out at least two to three episodes before deciding whether to watch or drop. Not to figure out the story, since, like I mentioned, there are just some things you won’t get with HIStory shows, but more to get a grip on the pace of the show. Just watching episode one I thought it was gonna be slow paced, especially since the show has 20 episodes, but it is actually quite fast-paced. I appreciate it, since it would have ruined the show if it was slower and more drawn out. Like this it is nice and neat even if it does have 20 episodes.

So I definitely recommend the show and depending on the ending in a few weeks I will decide if the producers fulfilled the expectations yet again (oh my god…and there are still some upcoming installments, I’m shaking O.O ) I do wanna say: the outlook is good, so if they continue like this I might have compliments coming in the final review πŸ˜‰

875d50765a99eb35d3351e7d22cccbe498acc6c2r1-1313-960v2_hq

So check out the show and tell me what you think about it! I’d love to hear what expectations you have with the show ^.^

Ending and Ongoing #randomremarks

Here we are again with my new corner of #randomremarks or an update on BL, K-Pop or whatever is going on right now.

Find the rest of the series here:Β Updates #randomremarks

This time I’ll include a short review of the He’s Coming To Me finale, as well as a short Shazam! review. I know that did not mix well at all but who cares πŸ˜‰ as for K-Pop…I don’t really have any interesting news there. Not really…there are other BL news though.

tumblr_nx8134wndt1uk6qtlo1_500

He’s Coming To Me – Finale *spoilers*

So we just got our long expected (it was only 8 episodes but we all felt like we were watching it for so long, admit it) finale of this wonderful series. Did I expect this ending? Not at all. Nope.

I expected it to end badly…like really bad and for me to cry my eyes out. I did cry (a lot) but it was an ending I could rewatch and I won’t scratch this ending from my memory compared to others (yes, I’m talking about stuff like My Bromance The Movie etc.).
It did end really corny and with a lot of questions popping up but on the other end it was like the producers doing just what we wanted them too. They solved the whole mystery surrounding Mes’ death (shock! Did I expect that? I had my suspicions but never though they would go that far o.O ) and gave us a wonderful cry-all-you-want scene. I loved that Than came clean with everyone in the end and told them about Mes, even if he still plays some jokes on them, but still, they are his best friends, and I love how supportive they are. And we got another kiss!

I had my doubts about Singto and Ohm’s chemistry especially because they had to fill some big shoes after SOTUS but they did great. I think that’s partly because there was a total different dynamic between them than between Arthit and Kongpob but also because the actors seem to be pretty comfortable with each other and tbh I enjoyed them together a lot.

coming-04a

Also compliments to Singto for making me forget that Kongpob had the same face πŸ˜€ Ohm and Singto both have this energy about them just sucking you into the story and forgetting other stories while watching. Big compliments to all the actors, the writers, the production team and please give us more of them!
And good luck, Khiem, for your new love πŸ˜‰

Ongoing – check it out

Regarding other news…there aren’t many new things just a few news and me telling you to maybe check out HIStory3: Trap. It has a totally different dynamic than the previous ones, especially because this time they are both grown-ups having a job (or something like a job) and not students or at college. I’m really starting to enjoy it. At first I thought the pace was really slow but it’s actually quite nice paced. I will probably publish a mid-season review too but still. Also, guys, there are three episodes a week, when do we ever get that?

So if they go on like this, it is a worthy installment of theΒ HIStoryΒ series, but let’s wait and see πŸ™‚

Note: I still don’t know whether it is named HIStory3: Trap or HIStory3: Trapped though…in the posters it says Trapped but everyone just calls it Trap?!

875d50765a99eb35d3351e7d22cccbe498acc6c2r1-1313-960v2_hq

Another HIStory news: We still don’t have fixed release dates but HIStory3: Miracle will probably come around summer or fall and HIStory2: Boundary Crossing 2 is probably going to be released either the end of this year or its looking at a 2020 release. None of this is a sure thing but just the highest probability I guess.

The Best Twins, another currently airing show, is slowly moving forward and while also giving us one joke after another, the romance is moving along real slow, like reeeeeeaaaaal slow. We do kind of get a picture of where it is going though, so at least we have that.

8ma05qba_400x400

As for What The Duck 2: Final Call…I’m still watching but I gave up every hope of someone being able to save this show. They made this mess and it seems to be impossible to get out of it. I’ll keep you up to date though, so if something interesting happens, I’ll tell you. Let’s see if they manage to save the show, somehow.

Love Beyond Frontier – don’t we know them?

GMMTV released more trailers for their 2019 line up. One of them (even if not a BL series) is Love Beyond Frontier and tbh it looks amazing. In general it seems to be about four people living under one roof and falling in love with the wrong person. Don’t know whether it will end well, but the trailer looks great, funny and serious at the same time and I cannot wait to see all of the actors again! I even know the actresses!!! Excited. Starts May 12th.Β Here is the trailer, ENG SUBs available

Shazam! – Short and neat

I also recently went to the cinema to watch Shazam! and I did mention before you just need to think of it as a comedy and less as a super hero movie and I still stand by that comment. If you want to compare it to other super hero movies…there is none. This movie is pretty much the funny PG version of Deadpool for DC. And I love it. It is funny and while corny at some points, it has a charm that many other movies don’t have. And also, while Zachary Levi did look strange in this costume (who wouldn’t?) he did great and convinced as the kid in a super hero body. Also compliments to Asher Angel and Jack Dylan Grazer. Both convinced in their roles and definitely gave it their best, I hope I see them in other movies again soon!

And while I do say the film is comedic, it is more serious than I expected it to be in the beginning, so I definitely recommend checking it out πŸ™‚

Otherwise there are no more news I really want to share…maybe I’ll remember something, then I’ll post it with the next #randomremarks though, so this is it for now πŸ˜€

Review: ReminderS

Filling every BL fans heart with giggles and a big smile was the short series ReminderS. Here a short review about the series and why you should probably check it out. But judge for yourself.

I tried to skip any spoilers but I probably didn’t succeed all the time so sorry.

im-ready-gif-5

General

ReminderS is a 3 episode short series (more like a special) aired on LINE TV. It was released from April 17th to April 20th 2019 and features actors from the popular BL series’ Love By Chance (2018) and Love Sick (2014 – 15). The trailer came out like a week before the special actually aired…Okay, maybe it was a month before but I’m not too sure. It definitely wasn’t long before the show actually aired. The full title of the show is REMINDERS Because I Miss You. While it was not clear in the beginning if the LBC couples would feature in the show (which they are not), the trailer already told all the fans that we would see the long-awaited return of one of the original BL couples, Phun and Noh from Love Sick. As for the LBC actors, it features Perth and Saint (originally acted as Ae and Pete in LBC respectively) as Pin and Son, and Mean and Plan (originally playing Tin and Can respectively) as Two and Wish. All three are already couples in the series and it is about them facing some drama in their relationships.

Do not be confused now though – this is a special. Which means the episodes are at most 30 minutes long and there are just three (!) of them, so there isn’t much to the story, since the show is, in fact, mostly a reminder and to remember some of great feelings we had when watching the original shows.

Also I had some people asking again why the LBC actors are not acting as their LBC characters. Check this out, I mentioned some possible reasons there: HERE

oxpq3f

The story

So the story of the series is pretty simple. All six are students at university, some of them studying together but as far as I understood, most of them are studying different subjects. Not that that fact is sooo important but well…
In general, the story skips a lot with introducing the cast as couples right from the beginning and PinSon/ TwoWish already knowing each other but getting to know PhunNoh in the series. And getting to know each other more leads to more misunderstandings than you would think.

The series also features some cameo appearances. Some, we already saw in the trailer, but some are a welcome surprise. I won’t spoil them though πŸ˜‰

The new couples

I won’t say more about the story but let’s just talk about the couples. As for the PinSon and TwoWish couple, it’s like they took the LBC characters’ best traits, added some spice and fun to it and created them for this show. Which translated to “it’s awesome to watch”. Also the new characters seem to be a little more natural for the actors and seem to represent more of their own character than the previous characters, making the couples seem even more convincing, which is really needed since we don’t actually see them falling in love but are just stuck in the middle of their relationship, so chemistry and convincing feelings are a must. And Perth, Saint, Mean and Plan deliver. One thing I really appreciated here was also that it wasn’t just couple scenes but that we got some Perth / Mean fun scenes too. It was interesting seeing them acting together, especially since this time their characters didn’t hate each other. Really enjoyed that.

1562983716-member

The comeback couple

As for the Phun / Noh couple. The chemistry those two had…well, after 5 (!) years I was afraid it would be really awkward and it wouldn’t be there anymore, BUT IT IS! Yes! Right from the first episode of the special it’s there. The actors and the characters seem so comfortable around each other that you just get the feeling they actually spend their time from school until college together and didn’t follow their own paths and projects like in real life. And I think that says a lot for their acting abilities and chemistry that it’s still as strong as ever after 5 years. Here I also want to compliment them on their acting in general. Love Sick was always a classic and I love it but we all have to admit, a lot of the acting was awkward in the beginning because they did not have much acting experience. Well, seems they learned a lot in those 5 years, because they were really really good in ReminderS. They really give you the feeling they’re not actors but you have their characters in front of you. And this is one of the things I liked about Love Sick in general. It just sucked you in. ReminderS isn’t any different. It’s short, it’s not much story, but all of the couples suck you in and you won’t be able to stop watching them and cheering for them.

One thing I loved in the series – while there was drama for all three couples, some had more and some had less and all of them actually featured different problems. And I loved how Phun and Noh helped the other couples while also facing some insecurities of their own.

Okay, but…

Since it wouldn’t be a real review if I did not mention the bad stuff too, here it is: ReminderS big bad thing is…it’s not any good if you haven’t at least watched Love By Chance or Love Sick. ReminderS is, like its name says, pretty much a “reminder” of the couples, the actors, the memories, the shows. It is mostly a sentimental show. Which means if you neither enjoyed LBC or LS, don’t watch it. If you enjoyed one of them though, this is definitely a must-watch. Especially since it is a promotion for the long awaited upcoming third season of Love Sick.

The memories

I kept the most important stuff for the end. If you are a hard-core Love Sick lover, like me, you will pretty much stop three seconds into the first episode. At least I had too. The music just takes you right back and I just remembered the time I started watching Love Sick and actually getting into the BL world. I had watched other shows before but this one introduced me to the Thai BL world and ever since then I have to say, my life changed. While others watch Game Of Thrones and bet who is gonna die next, I’m sitting here grinning like a fool because I get a major flashback from 3 seconds of a song.

For those non-Love Sick fans or viewers, you have to understand: I had never before watched a show like Love Sick and its chemistry before. Remember the first time you watched a Thai BL series and how you felt back then. The one show that made you fall in love with Thailand and Thai BL. For me that is Love Sick. And seriously, we have so many shows where we won’t get a another season (Love By Chance, Addicted, WaterBoyy, 2Moons – at least not with the same actors, etc.) that a lot of LS fans thought that we won’t ever get more from Love Sick. Technically it has a second season and after five years you just stop thinking about it…until they announce it and you go crazy. Also because it wasn’t clear if the actors are coming back and still have the same chemistry. Well, ReminderS settles that I think (although I don’t want to jinx it, so I’ll keep praying for it even now).

ReminderS for me was like a trip back to innocent little me starting to watch her first Thai series, not knowing what to expect, and experiencing for the first time a couple she cheered, cried, laughed, screamed and giggled with more than ever before and finding out that being close to someone doesn’t necessarily mean being physically close but it can also mean that you care for someone more than for anyone else. I think that best describes it.

Conclusion

So, yes, ReminderS mostly has sentimental value for me but whether you are a LBC or LS fan, ReminderS is a great heal for you heart and for watching something light and short to enjoy yourself.

And while I almost fainted in the first three seconds of the series, seriously the ending sequence pretty much killed me ❀

If you are a LS or LBC fan, watch it. If you are not a fan of at least one of those shows…why not? And if you haven’t watched them, please watch them and be sucked into this craziness with us, so we can all wait together for the third season …that still has no release date T.T

Bonus for Love Sick fans – just found this one, I could not stop laughing remembering. Still remember this scene?
